Monochrome

So yesterday was a BUSY day, two photo shoots in one day = one very tired makeup artist, but totally worth it!

There's not much to say about the first shoot as it was a 'makeover shoot' You won't see any of the images on my portfolio as these are simple shoots and generally private for the client. We get the client all glammed up and looking a million dollars and they get their photos taken, it's a great confidence boost for them and always good fun on set! Often clients can be a little nervous so you'll usually find me messing around and acting a fool just to make them giggle and put them at ease :)
The shoot I'm here to talk about is my shoot with photographer Emily Bailey also known as ENB photography, Stylist Chantel Hennigan and model Lara McGrath.
The brief of the shoot was monochrome with an androgynous feel, and it was simply amazing!

Our model Lara, stunning girl, and only 17! She has a unique style, braided black dreadlocks, very 90s feel to it, gorgeous face and a figure to die for! She suited the brief perfectly.
Chantel is a great stylist, she has the perfect eye for fashion and such a fun girl to work with, I've worked with her before and got her involved in this shoot. We'll also be working together again on Thursday for another shoot. She pulled together some fantastic looks for yesterday and I can't wait to see what she gets for our Thursday shoot.
Emily our photographer is another amazing girl. Her creativity is just insanely good, she knows what she wants and she gets it! And again so much fun to work with. All 3 girls I would highly recommend to anyone.

We shot for around 5 hours and got so many different looks done. Lara's modelling skills, wow! She needed no direction what so ever, just got on with it pose after pose.
Makeup wise we started off with a natural look but contoured and sleek, next we added more lip colour, then we got to be abit more creative. I'm not going to go into too much detail as you'll have to wait for the finished pictures, but think monochrome with a tribal twist, it looked amazeballs! I had a sneak peek at some of the images off the back of the camera and Emily captured everything perfect.
The atmosphere on set was on a constant high, laughing and joking, music on, we even had abit of dutty wine and lots of hair whipping. I STILL have that song stuck in my head "I whip my hair back and forth I whip my hair back and forth!" Yep, now you can have it in your head too! I'm such a professional haha.
I've added a few behind the scene shots just to give you a taste of the shoot, you'll have to wait for the final images!
